CEMA Update on CHUU & OEC+

"February 1st" saw a report that BBC had petitioned to ban Chuu's Entertainment Activities via CEMA (Korea Entertainment Management Association) and KEPA (Korea Entertainment Producers’ Association). As translated on teamsubbits.com, the petition was filed in "December 2022".

Today saw an update to the situation, with passages here lifted directly from translated English text posted on teamsubbits.com (Full text via, as well tweet embedded below):

"In a dispute lengthened by a failure to reach an agreement via mediation between Chuu from the group LOONA and her agency Blockberry Creative (hereafter "Blockberry"), the Korea Entertainment Management Association's Disciplinary Mediation Ethics Committee (hereafter "CEMA") has ruled in Chuu’s favor.

According to an industry official on the 4th, CEMA judged that “there is insufficient grounds” for Blockberry’s claim against Chuu regarding having double contracts with BY4M Studio (hereafter “BY4M”).

On the same thread of the CEMA petitions, BBC had as well submitted a petition against the ex-members of LOONA who have had their exclusive contracts annulled with BBC - namely HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul and Choerry - to ban their activities in South Korea, and there is a update on that as well...

"BY4M Studio (hereafter ‘BY4M’), which is embroiled in suspicions that it engaged in advance contact with Chuu of the group LOONA in order to sign her to a contract, has promised that it will not sign exclusive contracts with other LOONA members in the future."

So essentially BBC had been "successful" in a way to block the girl's future in South Korea's entertainment industry, which we all know by now HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul and Choerry has since signed exclusive contract with Modhaus, and even announced their "ARTMS involvement", moving forward...!

Although at the end of the day, either it's all out "war" and fight til there are no soldiers on the battlefield, or a "compromise" to continue to earn a living, one way or the other, as BBC softens it's stance, at least for the "remaining members" ...
