The long-standing unanswered status of Chuu being absent from LOONA activities after their "Flip That" comeback, has finally been "answered".

On the 25th of November, 2022, posted on the LOONA Fancafe was a notice from Blockberry Creative, which essentially states that they have chosen to expel and remove Chuu from LOONA, with the reason being her "abuse of power".

This notice was released on a Friday, coinciding with the release of an episode of the weekly "Chuu Can Do It" (with episode guests actresses Cho Yihyun and Kim Hyeyoon), and immediately you see the malicious intention of doing so, to this exact schedule, IMO.

Disclaimer: This post, this blog, and myself is pro-Chuu, and this blog-feature is no different. Whatever "fairness" is based off public information and my personal speculations, cheers.

This blog-post is meant to be a archive of (select) responses and happenings chronologically presented, featuring and including tweeted and instagrammed testimonials from folks who claimed to have worked with Chuu and LOONA, and as well commentary from critics, writers and folks from within and outside of the (music) industry. As well a sequence of events including the latest Dispatch expose, and as well a mention of it's subsequent "revision".

DO NOTE: Primary content embedded here via @orrery_nim and @litell_johnn - who have kept an immaculate chronological archive of the happenings which I am shamelessly reposting here, cheers.

THAT Birthday Party video (NOV 25):

I have a theory about this. Perhaps the "threat/warning" had already been thrown to Chuu, but without a specific date. Meant to keep her on edge and constant "fear", which at this point in time (at time of this blog-post publishing), is not in doubt of what BBC is capable of, and/or might do to her psychologically.

Blockberry Creative makes an additional statement on Chuu's removal from LOONA in the LOONA Fancafe, no doubt in reaction to the overwhelming support and testimonels Chuu had been receiving online thus far. BBC continues to stir the pot of discontent towards Chuu.

JTBC Exclusive: 9 Members of #LOONA Excluding Vivi and Hyunjin in Lawsuit to Terminate Contract.
At this point you'll also realized that members of LOONA are not, and have not been on FAB (a South Korean social app) for some time now, besides HyunJin and ViVi. I am uncertain, but did their absence happen from when BBC announced the ousting of Chuu on "November 25th"? Or was it earlier?

BBC has responded that this situation was "groundless".

E-Daily: "Exclusive - #Chuu, formerly of #LOONA, finally makes a fresh start with BY4M"
Remember when the "news/rumor" broke out about Chuu signing under BY4M, and BBC came out to say the rumor was "groundless"? Do you see the pattern emerging? At this point, the public's trust for BBC's official word/statement has already been tainted and eroded, IMO.

NOV 28: Chuu responds on her Instagram:

The support and response for Chuu continues...

The Chuu vs BBC issue was reported in the LIFE Section of The Straits Times. The "pride" I had for seeing my fav KPOP girl group mentioned in the nation's newspaper, is balanced out with the insane situation that is happening to them and Chuu, and the anger that quells it...

Some might baulk at this, but the reality is any eyeballs on their situation, is better served than being ignored, because they are not our prerequisite "top tier" KPOP-news, IMHO. And while all this might be a double edged sword (getting folks who have no interest in this being invested in this), might mean folks who have no skin in the game, up their discontent with the situation.

The thing is, LOONA is the sole girl group of BBC, and there is no "history" to be had with other groups in the company to be compared with, excluding the soloist SunYe who publicly has signed with BBC, and excluding the trainee girl group and boy group, whom are being kept in an exceedingly DL at the moment, which I have no doubt will come to the fore once LOONA is thrown to the side.

DEC 4, 2022

"LOONA Union" officially announces their intention on Twitter. @unionloona is essentially a "LOONA Fanbase Union" comprising both South Korean fanbases and International fanbases for LOONA.

DEC 5, 2022

LOONA Union @unionloona releases/tweets an Official Statement demanding an official feedback from Blockberry Creative, along with the threat of boycotting BBC.

DEC 7, 2022

OSEN and XSportsnews reported that "LOONA Reported to Make 2023 Comeback" (where BBC confirms the comeback but refutes the timing). In lieu of a official response to LOONA Union, BBC announces the comeback of LOONA instead.

DEC 8, 2022

In reaction to comeback announcement, @unionloona proceeds with the boycott.

DEC 11, 2022

@loonatheworld begins teasing a comeback with a scheduled "2023.01.03 TUE 6PM (KST)" timeline (I have featured all these here), with the "LOOΠΔ The Origin Album [0]" announced on Dec 12th with a moving visual teaser trailer, and subsequently Track List, and images of LOONA reveals.

Album preorders and solicitation of Fan Sign Events, Off-line & Video Call Events were solicited on Dec 14th. Reveals continue unto this day, at time of this blog-post publication.

DEC 16, 2022

YTN Star "Exclusive": "LOONA: Decides to not hold a media or fan showcase… Considering live broadcast". BBC subsequently confirms this.

KBS2 investigative show Entertainment Company Plus (formerly Entertainment Weekly) ran a segment on agency disputes, including Chuu's. The show summarized recent events starting with Chuu's injunction news and her birthday fanmeeting, and various follow-up news. View video with English subtitles on teamsubbits.com.

DEC 19, 2022

Dispatch releases a expose into the Chuu vs BBC situation.

@gointosubbit translates the 221219 Dispatch Exclusive: "Is it a Right? Or an Abuse of Power?"... The Whole Story Behind the Chuu and #LOONA Situation, with readable link to document HERE.

DEC 20, 2022

The Chuu vs Blockberry Creative issue was noted on JTBC morning news variety show "Sangam-dong Class" at 8:11AM KST (221220).

Dispatch has apparently since revised the report, including some changes to more directly instilling a negative image of Chuu (Example: Repeat chatlog transcripts were deleted, but not before adding the editor's summaries / visual comparisons in Tweeted images below), thank goodness @orrery_nim has ARCHIVED and CURRENT transcripts available in clickable links in Twitter embed below.

The dirty-play continues. BBC will be doubling down in their intention to smear Chuu's name and reputation, and will be continuing to do damage control and media manipulation, no doubt hoping to turn public opinion against pro-Chuu opinions expressed by Orbits and fans.

With the attention and eyes on the Lee Seung-gi situation with Hook Entertainment, and OMEGA-X with Spire Entertainment, BBC will attempt to secure whatever public opinion garnered against Chuu, playing the long game, as they have had with LOONA all this time.

And as antis and naysayers crawl out of the woodwork and rile up Orbits, people might end up "forgetting" that BBC had always been telling the untruth - from Chuu's non-involvement with LOONATHEWORLD tour, to the LUMINOUS Japanese single release, and now pushes forward with the LOONA comeback, and even scheduling the Japan concert in "March 2023".

Orbits might be "wise" to their machinations, but to the general public, BBC no doubt is attempting to manipulate their perception of the situation and of Chuu.

Remember when Chuu was allegedly accused of being a "school bully" back in "February 2021"? (allkpop.com) I wonder if that was a "coincidence"? Or designed? How far back does this situation go?

And while the 9 girl's lawsuit is (apparently) underway, the verdict is yet to be decided by law, and what is being and will be done to Chuu, is again no doubt meant as a example and warning to the rest of the girls, of what BBC is capable of.

The fandom has been largely "well behaved" thus far, methinks. There is no doxing of specific person(s) at BBC, versus the face of Kim Ji-Woo AKA "Chuu", who is literally being dragged thru the mud of public opinion, while BBC remains a faceless entity, which frankly folks outside of the fandom might be care for at all (names are named that no one knows about, unlike the example of Spire vs Omega-X, where the female CEO's face is shown everywhere), and judge the situation based on "Chuu" alone, and the public opinions of her, and who they think she is, and should or should not be.

Remember back in the day none too long ago where they was a "Jaden Jeong" incurring the wrath of Orbits? .... But NOW? We have a faceless organization, a company of shadows filled with anonymous staff who will continue to lurk and will be able to escape, regardless the verdict, while all we have is the many faces of Chuu and LOONA in all the press and media play, and you know that is "unfair" from the get-go. And WE are being played and manipulated across the board...!

"No one can tell who this comeback is for."
221221 JTBC editorial: "Crisis on All Sides for Blockberry Creative, After Shooting Itself in the Foot" by reporter Kim Jin-seok.

DEC 22,2022

LOONA's 2023 comeback has been announced to be "postponed indefinitely" by BBC.
I delve deeper into this here.

With the announcement of indefinite postponement of the comeback, BBC can now "escape" th wrth of the boycott, and focus their attention on continuing their slander of Chuu, first with the revised Dispatch article, and now the next hit-piece, courtesy of "SBS Entertainment New"s:

After the announcement by BBC, later in the afternoon, an "exclusive" surfaced to further paint Chuu as the "villain", affecting the rest of LOONA ("After the LOONA Chuu Situation… Are the Other Members the Real Victims?"), skewering the narrative to "CHUU VS LOONA", while blatantly ignoring the reports of 9 members of LOONA that hare currently enacting lawsuits to nullify their contracts with BBC. It must be cheaper to pay news outlets for hit-pieces than to pay the girls, it seems. Read full English translated text in Google Docs here.
