When the news came out about Universal Music Japan (UMJ) claiming exclusive rights to all 12 members of LOONA to be active in Japan (instead of domestic South Korea), the lingering taste was bittersweet ... does it mean LOONA could continue to be active for 3 years, until their contract runs out with BBC (*If ever that was the case)? Or does it mean the "official disbanding" of LOONA would ever nullify said signed contract with UMJ?
Apparently when the contract was signed in 2019, Chuu was apart of the contract and OT12, but since then she has been expelled, and I am somewhat convinced that the contract would've been signed between BlockBerry Creative and UMJ, and not necessarily with the girls themselves individually, no? But of course I am speculating beyond the contract terms that no one (thus far) have any inkling of, besides BBC themselves?
Even Chuu had been glaringly left out of LOONA's "Luminous" JP comeback, so the news of "OT12" is an interesting premise where all the girl's could unite and perform? Or it could be a malicious one (*As mentioned in a Tweet below, where the "report" was written with possibly dubious intentions).
Online chatter has mentioned that it would not be fair to Chuu to forgo her currently blossoming career in the South Korean entertainment industry - and rightly so - but then again, it is all about "contract terms", and being expelled from LOONA would have consequences for that specifically too?
With memories of "Donut" suing BBC ever etched in Orbit's minds (If you know, you know), was their "official complaint" lodged against Chuu, HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul and Cheorry made in a somewhat attempt to affect "the contract with UMJ" and salvage their business?
We await with baited breathe where this is all going to lead.

But if the members reject the activities proposed by the Japanese agency without strong reason, the legal dispute will still proceed.https://t.co/IAC46GmWiC#KoreanUpdates VF pic.twitter.com/c38KQEvAL8

“In September 2019, all the members signed an exclusive contract with Universal Japan, if UMJ carries out their plans, LOONA may be active in Japan for 3 years.

However, there is still the possibility of a legal dispute if LOONA decides not to carry out these plans.”. pic.twitter.com/Vw8i8CNWPQ
this is the same journalist who wrote the original article accusing chuu of betraying loona and exposing text messages between esther and chuu’s mom. i think bbc trying to subtly frame the narrative against umj. this is why the article implies umj are coercive https://t.co/ziqbnHgRab
