Where Does The Time Go with Julia Fordham
I had "discovered" Julia Fordham in the 90s (even though she had started in the "early 80s") with "Happy Ever After", possibly via a listening station in Tower Records, back in the day. The laid back chill and tempo, and as impoprtantly her voice seduced me unto peace - which honestly at the period of my waking life, was a much needed reprieve.
By that time, I remembered discovering TONS of artists thru listening stations in record shops all around Singapore, including HMV and Serangoon Records actually, which sadly no longer exists in the current landscape.
That said, I had followed a decent amount of her albums since, stopping before 2000s, as my musical preferences veered somewhat... but decades later, as I was preparing this blogpost, the wondrous soundscapes come flooding back in ...much more beyond the "released singles" showcased here, with her albums memorable in the continuous soundscape that had embraced me, then and now.
That said, here are some of my favourites, and perhaps in time I will do Full Album Listens, cheers.
