"It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back)" by Eurythmics

WHAT-IS: ""It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back)" is a song written and recorded by the British pop music duo Eurythmics. It was released as the fourth and final single from their 1985 album Be Yourself Tonight. The song was produced by Dave Stewart, and the song's distinctive brass arrangement was devised by Michael Kamen.

The single became Eurythmics' tenth Top 20 hit in the UK where it peaked at number 12, but was less successful in the United States, stalling at number 78 on the Billboard Hot 100. As songwriters, Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart received the 1986 Ivor Novello award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically."

Besides their more "recognized" hits such as "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)", "Who's That Girl?" etc, "It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back)" by Eurythmics is undoubtably one of my fav tracks from them - sometimes lost between the retro-hype, no doubt - as evident as when I was trawling thru youtube for my retro-music fix for Eurythmics, when I rediscovered this track and the music video.

The MV itself showcases a particular aesthetic and animation style now revitalized in the synth-electronica sub-movement, popular in the post-millennial generation of yesteryear, brought up on coin-op arcade game machines and faux futuristic visuals, with this video encapsulating a mixed sense of Western and European spirit, mixed in with the fascination with Oriental / Eastern designs so popular in the 80s.

Here are more screengrabs for you, and enjoy the song :)

Cheers
Andy
