What Is #tunestalksg? (MARCH 13.2021)
MARCH 13.2021: I finally googled and found out I am categorised under "Generation X" (Yes, call me 'slow', but not too loudly, cheers), with my music tastes shaped by 80s synth wave / new wave / glam rock ... and thru the years JPop, CPop and more recently KPop (I heart #LOONA & #IU). I don't necessarily understand the non-English languages, but I let the music embrace me regardless, and carry me thru the soundscape of the #SoundtrackofMyLife.
I am borne of cassette tapes and recording songs thru the radio. I (used to) indulge heavily in CDs, and have missed the LP-train. I have not downloaded any songs online, and neither do I plan to. I miss my portable CD-player, and I hardly listen to radio these days ... maybe once in a blue moon via 80s'-dedicated internet-radio, but...
With the dearth of CD availability in Singapore rapidly diminishing, my consumption and knowledge of music is now primarily via YouTube, which has my attention for way too long each day and night, as a grownassman who earns zero from my YT-channels. Ironically I have begun to purchase physical CD albums online now (thanks to LOONA), when I can afford to, of course. You have no idea how "triumphant" I feel to receieve LOONA-albums in the mail, ridiculously and deliriously so LOL
I am not a "musician" or a "singer" - "budding" or otherwise "retired" (LOL). And I hesitate to comment on folks' vocals or singing ability, simply because I do not have the vocabulary nor understanding enough to give an opinion about. Reality TV Survival shows has convinced everyone that their opinions and judgemental skills, anyways LOL
What I do unashamely share is how I feel about the song(s), listening to the song(s), while watching the music videos - my Point-Of-View + Impressions/Opinions might seem "self-centered" or "self-indulgent" to some, but it's the only way I can "connect" with the songs and singers, so I'll share them anyways. I am wholly conscious of how I (physically) look, otherwise I'd long delved into operating/running my own "reaction channel" - lack of vocabulary notwithstanding OMFG hahahahaha
I imagined myself singing anthem rock songs in sold out stadiums, and used to sing pretty decent in karaokes. Both of which are but faded memories of what seemed another lifetime ago. I do a decent amount of "armchair grooving" nowadays though! Gawds know I needsome more exercise...
I am not under any (dis)illusions to being able to share any additional value to the music & music videos available out there now, but for my own POV and impressions, so that works for my sensibilities and need for explusion of my brainthoughts currently, methinks.
This blog is not a "news outlet", and is more of a "hobby blog" really. I share what I like here, with stuff I find interesting too. Think of this blog as a "mixtape" (and online "jukebox" for myself :p), and a spot for me to reminisce about my musical journey before, from personal collections, experiences, and media-influences - and that's about it really. It's all about the MUSIC, thanks.
Cheers,
