LOONA's Choerry Announced To Sit Out LOONATHEWORLD Europe Tour Due To Health Reasons

In advance of 이달의 소녀 LOONA's Europe Concert Tour for LOONATHEWORLD World Tour, both BlockBerry Creative and @mymusictaste has announced that member Choerry will not be able to participate in the Europe leg of the tour due to health reasons.

This is not the first time an official announcement has been made about Choerry's health too, with her sitting out the concert and Meet & Greet event in Houston, TX (for the U.S. leg of the tour).

All of these comes at the heel of the recently completed U.S. Tour for LOONATHEWORLD, which has been plagued with numerous health issues for the members, including HaSeul performing in a shoulder/arm cast, Olivia Hye with hip issues (and now wrist injury_, YeoJin fainting on stage in New Mexico (which BBC even gave us an "official" statement for, which YeoJin herself partially refuted), and Yves needing to go backstage for what we could only assume to be treatment for circumstances. Not to mention the members going to hospital for check ups after their return to South Korea.

We might not be able to, or will never have a full report of what happened to everyone (besides commentary on Fab for ankle and neck issue etc), but for the multiple tweets and comments on socials, which by itself is double-edged sword for both authenticity and live on-site reports, IMO. It is heartbreaking, either way.

LOONA was down to 9 members on stage by the end of the Houston concert too (out of the 11 members touring, excluding Chuu whom has been excluded from the tour since the beginning).

Netizens on socials have called for show postponement and/or cancellation (with regards to the members health and well being), in lieu of the gruelling schedule and the girls beng overworked, but alas it would not be as easy as that, as there no doubt would be numerous contractual situations, and even for folks who might have taken to travel to concert venues and the logistics involved.

This concert has become a literal trial by fire for LOONA, where after years of their solo debuts and group activities (*LOONA celebrated their 4th Anniversary while on tour), this has become their first full-on international concert tour, outside of domestic South Korea. Will this concert break them? Or will this concert be a training ground for them for future similar activities?

LOONA was the sole group of artists under the BlockBerry Creative agency for many years (until recently where SunYe has signed on, and trainees under BBC), and have zero accessibility for feedback and education beyond speaking to other artistes outside of their company, so in essence LOONA has also become the "guinea pig" for their agency, and as well the pioneers leading the way for BBC and future members under the agency, IMHO.

From Queendom2, to their Flip That comeback, and straight away to the U.S. tour, then Europe, than Tokyo, and not doubt the rest of South-East Asia yet to be announced, besides The Philippines (with other artists in the line-up), the girls have had to go thru a punishing schedule, yes, and at the same time it is a polar opposite of their long drawn activities hiatus in 2019 ... unfortunately there doesn't seem to have a "middle ground", is there?

The price to pay is taking it's toll on the members, and I sincerely hope each and everyone will be able to pull thru and recover and be triumphant!

Personal Health issues aside (*NOT that I am brushing this off, as THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANRT aspect of their well-being), BUT I too am happy for the girls having this opportunity right now, to be able to showcase themselves and their performances.

As much as we (the fandom) have shared what we think of the schedule and our concerns for their individual health(s), I too am very intrigued to know what the members themselves think of the situation, without the watchful eyes of their agency, of course ... and perhaps that may be something we'll only know or get to know off, in the future years to come.

LOONATHEWORLD Europe tour begins September 6th in Warsaw, thru Amsterdam (Sept 8), Frankfurt (Sept 11), Paris (Sept 13) and ends Sept 16 in London.
