RECAPPING Episode 5 of #QUEENDOM2
EPISODE 5 recapped the ending of Ep4, where the winner of Round 2 was awarded to Hyolyn and her stage for SO WHAT, followed by LOONA's SHAKE IT coming in at 2nd place. We saw Hyolyn visiting LOONA's green room and witnessed their interaction and goals set for the next round.
Folks online have remarked that Hyloyn may well be the "13th member" of LOONA, but I'm veering towards "GODMOTHER", and I sincerely hope that this will not end with "Queendom 2", but will engage in fruitful collaborations in future projects.
Time to move unto the rest of Ep5, where we further had a glimpse into each team's green room and their non-celebratory reactions and emotions, and immediately we are introduced to ROUND 3 and what it entails - I'll let the screengrabs tell the story:
(Yes, I too can imagine in my mind GoWon shouting "Water-Parka"...!)
Do you need a "moment"? I know I did .... take your time, no worries... Feel freee to continue reading whenever you are ready to, cheers :)
TLDR FOR REST OF EPISODE 5: Episode 5 of Queendom 2 (aired April 28, 2022) essentially showcased all the girls of QUEENDOM 2 participating in a "workshop" at what looked to be a holiday resort.
There was no "voting", or "streaming" needed to be done this week, so it had been a very welcomed breather, and we were treated to more fun and wholesome happenings we ever had expected so far in the faux-cruel and competitive world of "Queendom 2".
This episode (Ep5) of #Queendom2 was wholesomeAF & a wonderful breather before heading back to the competition ... a sobering thought: all the negativity & fanwars so far were created by the fans, and not the girls themselves :p#퀸덤2

Sure, there was still a lingering sense of "competition" in this episode, but it was specifically for snagging the preferred team/performers and songs! More on that as we scroll forth. This is the full episode:

SYNOPSIS: "The theme for the third match gets revealed. There will be two rounds for the third match. The first round will be the Position Unit Battle. Each group will choose representatives for a Vocal Unit or Dance Unit. These representatives are gathered together for a special Queendom Workshop. The members will make different decisions including songs and team selections.". (Watch Ep5 here on viu.com / With ads / Synopsis via).
COMMENTARY: With the introduction of the scoring system/points and raised stakes for Round 3, I too wonder how folks' decisions and opinions of folks/teams other than their own biases, might "change" with watching the rest of this episode...
We were next shown that there was a massive group chat created for everyone, where we first see the instructional from the Queen Manager about WHERE to go for the workshop. JinSoul from LOONA mentioned on FAB (I think, I did not save the Tweet to authenticate this tho) that this chat was "real" = Now that's a HUGE chatroom...!
THE CHOICE IS YOURS
We are shown how each of the 5 teams + 1 soloist in their own dedicated video segment, where they chose and voted for who among their own members'll attend the workshop.
COMMENTARY: I loved it that LOONA wasn't shy of piling on their members, while other teams were very conservative of their members' participation. I am sure there'll be strategies in place (like having the members rest whenever possible, to store up energy for the next battle)... and can only hope LOONA'll be able to take the "punishment" of going "all out" ... or perhaps they know what's at stake here, and "losing" never seems to be an acceptable sentiment for them :)
The notion of WHO joined WHOM was the talk of the week before (at least on Twitter / although I did tease a bit :p), with "spoilers" revealed online. Essentially these images (shown at the END of the Episode) showcased WHO are with which teams. Understandably the hype and anticipation was real, but seeing it unfold on screen in front of you, was pretty satisfying too.
ABOVE: VOCAL UNITS
BELOW: DANCE UNITS
We are shown members of the teams arriving separately from each other (teams) and entering the rooms. As everyone walks up the step, they were to choose turning left or right, to their designated units.
VOCAL UNITS are split into THREE UNITS, with Each Unit consisting of members from two teams/soloist. The gist of the program was for each team to choose their partnering teams/partners, and the fun we see them doing so.
COMMENTARY: There was way much cuteness and adorableness going around here! Members were able to shine and showcase another color of themselves beyond competition days, and that is refreshing and fascinating, especially eye-opening for someone like myself who knows little of everyone else on Queendom 2 besides LOONA. This episode would have been totally perfect if NAMES of the folks where supered when they appeared :p

ITS THE LITTLE THINGS
And the interactivity amongst the teams and folks, that created this episode. While previous competition episodes were bound with edited-tension and the preconceived notion of fandoms to WANT TO WIN OTHERS, to what might well be evolved to WANTING THEIR TEAM(s) to WIN, while cheering the others on too?
How Eunha of VIVIZ continues to charm (Mnet seemed to LOVE her for this episode) ... how LOONA grabs tight-tight at Kep1er not letting go (Chuu's "We're married" slip of the tongue FTW) ... and seeing Hyolyn being the consummate mentor to Minyoung, was so heartwarming and inspirational, became as much the heart of this episode, as were the charms of everyone else, IMHO. There can be no quarrel of anyone more deserving a "special prize", if not the championship, than Hyolyn has shown herself to be worthy of, IMHO.
VOCAL units are each able to choose their own songs to sing, and by nightfall, after dinner, each team performed a sampling of what their performances will be ... more on that later!
The DANCE Units are somewhat similarly formed, where TWO groups of members from a team is paired up with another group's, whereby it was a more "cruel" round of first choosing your partners, then the next person/team comes in to push you out...!
The situation for the DANCE unit is different from VOCAL in this aspect: in which the teams could not choose their own preferred song to dance to, but were instead given THREE new songs including choreography - which were performed by Street Woman Fighter teams (which were not specifically identified), whom in turn would act as the dance mentors and instructors to the paired units.

The ending preview showcased the dance units getting whupped. We'll get to that soon...
With most of the entire episode dedicated to the choosing aspect, we end the day with dinner, were we are shown everyone from every team arriving to have dinner with the selected folks. The interaction between everyone was as wholesome as we'e ever seen them been in, prior to competition days.

After dinner, folks were gathered to enjoy the brief performances by the VOCAL Team (not all songs were similar to what I had blogged about, primarily because one song was meant as a "ruse"), whereby at the end of all performances, everyone was to VOTE for the Top Three. The WINNER of this round will be able to PICK the schedule for Round 3 Performances.
The show ends without announcing WHO the winner(s) was, and we are shown the trailer for the next episode, where DANCE Unit Practices will be shown, and as well Round 3 Stages were teased. Specifically Universe (Eunha of VIVIZ with Yeonjung and Soobin of WJSN), and Hyolyn on stage.
Will we get to see THREE stages in Ep6 (as per Mnet's M.O. thus far)?
