The Teenage Textbook Movie OST (Nearly-but-not-quite Full Album Listen)
And it's not just because I was involved in then production of "The Teenage Textbook Movie" that I enjoyed the 1998 soundtrack album (of course it is lah, but....), it's also because the songs are hella catchy and basically was a memory-marker for a specific time in Singapore and the local indie radio-friendly pop music scene, which frankly not many folks give enough credit for.
I was not involved in any way in the production of the OST itself, but I am proud of being associated with it, by virtue of the movie LOL

The CD shown here was a promotion with fast food chain "Burger King" (purchasable along with Set Meals), which I still remember visiting IKEA in Alexandra Road for (Can't remember what I ate tho :p), and the fleeting feeling of wonderment holding the CD in my hand. And even though I had in the past foolishly parted with the VCD of the film, I never could release this CD into the wild... To my knowledge, there never was any other OST being released besides this incarnation.
Featured here today is a (Nearly But Not Quite) Full Album Listen, with a few choice songs unfindable on YouTube. Besides the songs themselves, Original Music was produced by Jonathan Lim and is something that seems to be lost in the www, which is a true pity.
You might also want to check out the film itself currently streaming here on Netflix (YAY!) .... OR scroll down to view the low-res full movie embed from YT! Enjoy The Memories!

"The Teenage Textbook Movie" was my second local / Made-In-Singapore feature film I had been involved in, in my short career in the industry. Credited as Production Designer and Art Director, I had the opportunity to run a pretty lean Art Crew, and was able to design in a genre that reflected what I had wished my own childhood to be - particularly that of Kai's bedroom (Featured here), which was modelled after my imaginary mancave of comicbook-dreams LOL
