Introducing Yves of LOONA (9th Girl To Be Revealed for 이달의 소녀)

After the reveal and sub-units LOONA 1/3 and ODD EYE CIRCLE, the 9th girl to be revealed for LOONA 이달의 소녀 is "YVES", whom will go on to apart of, and lead the 3rd sub-unit "YYXY"!



Her debut single "new" was uploaded unto the LOONATHEWORLD YouTube channel on November 28th, 2017, after her reveal on November 14th of the same year. Since then, she has been exceeding well known for her dancing skills, and have appeared in multiple musical and infortainment variety shows, most notably as a contestant in "King of Masked Singer" (January 2021), and was a MC/co-host for "Fact iN Star" (from Summer 2020 to mid-Feb 2021).

Born on May 24th, 1997, in Busan, South Korea - TODAY (time of this blogpost publication), she will be 24 years old (International age) / 25 years old (Korean age)! Happy Birthday, Miss Ha!

Moving on through LOOΠΔ 1/3 and LOOΠΔ / ODD EYE CIRCLE, LOOΠΔ has taken roots into its unique Loonaverse.

Each member gathered to form a unit which became not just a collaboration, but a complete group with distinct musical style.

LOOΠΔ 1/3 sang about the thrill of first love and the sorrow of heartbreak. LOOΠΔ / ODD EYE CIRCLE took the fans by surprise with their odd view of the world.

In the process, LOOΠΔ / ODD EYE CIRCLE has placed themselves among the names in the iTunes charts worldwide, and in the Billboard top world albums chart, mix and matching to write their own organic story.

Now, LOOΠΔ takes another step with the introduction of Yves to start building its last four-member squad.

Yves asks a question in Eden. “Is it really a bad thing to disobey God?” If someone has already decided our fate, wouldn’t it be a better life to stand up and against that fate?

Even if it’s not something grand such as God or fate, Yves sings that she will not surrender herself to any walls or glass ceilings she may have to face.

The title track “new” is a song where Yves declares that she will be herself no matter what kind of hardships, pain, and frustration faces her. It is the first track released in the genre of Soultronica in Korea, with Yves’ confident voice laid on top of bold beats to prove LOOΠΔ’s new concept and quality.

The music video for “new” was directed by DigiPedi. He captures fatal images of Yves, who takes a bite of the apple on purpose to be exiled to the earth.



The supporting track “D-1” is a French-pop style track with trivial emotions and stories of a girl told in a classy way.

Just as ‘Love & Live’, ‘Love & Evil’, ‘Mix & Match’, and ‘Max & Match’ have, LOOΠΔ shuffles and swaps words to toughen its Mobius strip to become one.

Besides being in her sub-unit YYXY, Yves would also partner up with ViVi and Choerry to perform "The Carol 2.0" (13 Dec 2017) - previously featured / listen again here:







Seen in the video above for Yves' first solo "Fan Event" (Uploaded "1 Jan 2018"), while subsequently she partnered up with Chuu, for yet another fan sign (Below video uploaded "21 Jan 2018") for Chuu's B-Side "Girl's Talk".



It would not be long before subsequent reveals and debuts would lead to the first teaser for the 3rd and last LOONA sub-unit "yyxy" ("youth youth by young") on 26 Apr 2018. And while the following performance teaser is apart of the LOONA reveal ("XIVX" / Uploaded "30 Jan 2019"), it does individually showcase Yves dancing on the streets of Hong Kong - alongside Chuu - and cannot be denied...!

With the absence of HaSeul (after "Butterfly" era, from the "So What" era), Yves had been assigned the dedicated role of "leader" for LOONA. Outside of the South Korean girl group, Sooyoung was a fitting model for MariShe (pre-debut in 2017), whose images can still be found online.

Beyond being a performer and idol, Yves is known to be a "joker", and is well known for her love of family, especially her grandmother, and we get to see aspects of her personal life/personality in various variety showcases, including appearance on "나돌_NADOL" - embedded below for your viewing pleasures! Of course there are much more to her, and more likely all the members of LOONA, although I peraonally so hope they've kept some of themseelves, for themselves, IMHO.
