Introducing Choerry of LOONA (8th Girl To Be Revealed for 이달의 소녀)
The 8th girl to be revealed as part of LOONA was "Choerry", who would also be the third and final member rounding out LOONA's second sub-unit (after LOONA 1/3), with ODD EYE CIRCLE - which also included Kim Lip and JinSoul. While Choerry is the maknae of OEC, she too is in the maknae line within LOONA, alongside YeoJin and Olivia-Hye.
On July 4, 2017, the eighth “Who’s Next Girl?” teaser was released, and Choerry was revealed as the eighth member on July 12, along with the debut of her single, "LOVE CHERRY MOTION". Choerry was 16 years old.

Each member of the group is introduced with a single of her own. The universe of LOOΠΔ is expanded by combination of the new member with previously introduced members.
After the announcement of a new unit with Kim Lip eclipsing, LOOΠΔ’s colors deepened with JinSoul singing in the rain. The circle gets completed now with the introduction of Choerry.
Choerry’s title track ‘Love Cherry Motion’ is a funky pop dance tune blasting through hot summer, demonstrating Choerry’s juicy charm. The love spell ‘Love Cherry Motion’ is produced with the opposing qualities of refreshingly explosive chorus and ethnic break beats to create its own sense of style in finesse.
The music video was shot in Jeju Island to capture the visual attraction of the summer. HaSeul, the leader of LOOΠΔ 1/3 and YeoJin, the youngest member of LOOΠΔ joined forces to help out in the process. The surprise combination of Kim Lip and JinSoul during the beat break lets the audiences to take a little peek at the new unit for the fans to look forward to.
The supporting track ‘Puzzle’ is a duet by JinSoul and Choerry, produced by Daniel Obi Klein who also produced Kim Lip’s ‘Eclipse’. JinSoul’s vocal flair and Choerry’s beautiful harmonies become the pieces of the ‘Puzzle’ being put together.
Busting through from the release of HeeJin’s ‘ViViD’ up to Choerry’s ‘Love Cherry Motion’ without a break, LOOΠΔ will spend the month of August to rest. Kim Lip’s color red, JinSoul’s color blue, and Choerry’s color purple will combine for a new unit’s album to be released in September."

If the primarily line-up of LOONA members are "crackheads" and chaos queens (coined by LOONA's fandom), Choerry is the calm and level-headed one, always with a constant smile, and actively seen dancing or exercising in her LOONA TV episodes! Her bubbly attitude and persona, and agreeable nature ("Okay, Okay") belie what seems to be a hard-working attitude, without the need to let everyone know about it, IMHO...

Choerry is also know for her choreography works, and has received credit for a number of LOONA Singles and MVs, including "Uncover" (with Kim Lip and JinSoul), a portion of “Rosy” (with HyunJin), "Hi High", "Butterfly" (credited as “Choi-daeri” / 최대리, Assistant Manager Choi), and contributed to "So What" with HeeJin, Yves, and Olivia Hye. Choerry has also appeared in programs both as part of LOONA and as herself. The most recent appearance was in the "The Fishermen and the City" S2E42 (above videos), and the most notable one was Cheorry appearing on a 2009 episode of "Happy Time, Fantastic Mates (환상의 짝꿍)" when she was seven years old, and performed a dance cover of Son Dam-bi’s "Saturday Night."
From her single debut, to ODD EYE CIRCLE, to the formation of LOONA, Choerry somehow seems to be in the "background" a lot more than she should be, taking a seemingly low(er)-key visual position, or perhaps it's her personality not to walk in the spotlight (*This is just an assumption on my part as I have zero idea or knowledge of who she actually is and what her choices were/are), and seemingly does her work diligently - be it in choreography, or other aspects we might not know about, IMHO. Besides her love for "Harry Potter", we do not necessarily know about her other passions in life are - not unlike the rest of LOONA members - beyond what is shown to us in their LOONA TV and LOONA LOGS... and in a lot of ways, that too is fine, as I'd certainly hope they've kept parts of their personal lives for themselves, away from the idol/celebrity spotlight, which devours as much as they let the fans feel they are getting closer to their idols.
Regardless of my own personal impressions, I certainly am looking forward to see more of the cherry Choerry, who continue to renain positive, and for what she'll achieve in the days to come - AND let us know what she's achieved too!
