A Closer Look at JinSoul's SINGING IN THE RAIN Singles Album

Since my brief feature of JINSOUL's "Singing In The Rain" album in my "Introducing JINSOUL of LOONA"-post, THIS blog-feature today will take a closer look at said-album, featuring a relook at the Pageflip video (*Subscribe to my channel for more, thanks!), and a select few images from the photobook. ENJOY!

There is a distinct visual and styling shift from pre-LOONA 1/3 era to what is to be the ODD EYE CIRCLE sub-unit era, starting with Kim Lip, followed by JinSoul and Cheorry. And while Kim Lip's was "girl crush", JinSoul's embodied that plus a slightly more "luxurious" indie fashionista vibe, no doubt from her visual aura, and even height, with her being one of the taller members in the group. From long legs to long flown dressed, JinSoul's visuals - as presented in the photobook - also marked a more mature and "sexier" vibe to LOONA.

Truth be told, as I'd flip thru the photobook pages, there were some images taken that made me do a double-take, wondering "...Is that really JinSoul?",. Which in turn gave me a realisation of her "versatility" of not being just boxed into a "single look" - at least from the photobook era, IMHO.






The album features two tracks: title track "Singing in the Rain", and B-Side "Love Letter" (Duet with Kim Lip).

"Singing in the Rain" is composed by Hwang Hyun & Park Ji Yeon (MonoTree), and is a sonic departure of the previous pre-LOONA 1/3 era, started with Kim Lip's ECLIPSE, to the current future bass-influenced soundscape.

"Love Letter" however, is aligned with the LOONA-sound consistent throughout their pre-SO WHAT era discography.
