In her 4th EP #NAIL, #Yves uses nails as an objet to record the sensations felt by oneself. Yves focuses on emotion, which connects people beyond boundaries of borders, race, gender, and language, and places moments throughout the tracks that naturally persuade differing tastes.
"NAIL (feat. Lolo Zouaï)" is an alternative hiphop based track with a standout Dougie sound. It metaphorically sings of a being that doesn’t easily disappear and keeps coming to mind, with Yves adding sincerity by taking part in writing lyrics. Lolo Zouaï participated as a featured artist, shifting the song’s texture with a flow and temperature different from that of Yves's charming vocals.
In the MV, Yves faces a variety of senses and gradually accepts new senses in an unfamiliar space, drawing listeners to be more deeply immersed in the music. The MV’s sensuous visual aesthetic creates expectations of a degree of polish, making it feel like watching a film.
The new release includes a total of five songs:
- "It", which unpacks the concept of death in Yves's own way,
- "HALO", which expresses the process of falling deeper into the senses through a repetitive rhythm that lingers like an auditory hallucination,
- "Break it (feat. Lexie Liu)", where condensed energy bursts strongly along the cracks of the senses,
- and "birth," which deals with the meaning of birth coming with a classical instrument composition.
A key characteristic is that the last track, "birth", and the first track, "It", connect naturally, completing a circular structure in the album.
