INTRODUCING LOONA
LOONA on TUNESTALKSG
Released June 3rd, on the same day they revealed "The Journey" teaser trailer, BlockBerry Creatuve revealed the very FIRST teaser image for the upcoming LOOΠΔ Summer Special Mini Album [Flip That], scheduled for a 2022.06.20 6PM [KST] release.
Here is (ABOVE) IG Grid Image, (BELOW) the image in full (non-grid), BELOW THAT are individual grid-image embeds from their Instagram, followed by some observations (which by now you'd have read tons on Twitter for!).
The purple flowers and hanging "tree" is specifically reminiscent of the visuals/iconology of what was previously seen in Cheorry's "Love Cherry Motion" music video - screengrabs seen below, along with the MV (Cheorry's debut MV from 2017), of course. If you do not know by now (No worries if you don't, we don't judge you here on TUNESTALKSG), each member of LOONA has their own dedicated color, representative animals, etc. Cheorry's dedicated COLOR is "PURPLE", and her representative animal is "FRUITBAT".
In the MV, CHOERRY - who is apart of "Odd Eye Circle" (a trio which also includes KIM LIP and JINSOUL) - possesses "super powers", whereby she can move through different dimensions. I've never delved into the exact rationale for "Love Cherry Motion", but I reckon Choerry discovers her powers for the very first time in the MV, when she consumes the cherry (which was placed there by JinSoul), and she teleports to an unknown space, hanging upside down like a (vertical) mirror. Either its a literal upside down (shades of Netflix "Stranger Things") or is symbolism to communicate a mirrored plane of existence. We see Choerry upside down again in LOONA's "WHY NOT?" MV too.
And while Cheorry possess the power of "inter-dimensional power", I reckon (the) circular mirror(s) or circles (in general) might be a dedicated portal for transportation, seen in both the circular hole in the "ceiling" in both the MV (from 2017) and the teaser image.
With the girls of LOONA found and connected (since Hi-High) and Moon destroyed (in SO WHAT), perhaps the girls are now ready to be transported to another dimension/plane ... in a way that the (warrior) girls of "PTT" were yet another mirrored plane of existence (I'm trying hard not to mention "Multiverse", because that's what EVERYONE is doing now lol - hey, LOONA was doing this before, yeah?!) ~ LOL
The above seen "purple fields" iconology was again seen in LOONA's "WHY NOT?" MV, where Kim Lip is first seen ascending into the air barefooted (*I've always imagine the girls were bring "pulled" - like sci-fi tractor-beam being pulled - including HeeJin in Hi-HIgh, and the teaser for "Butterfly"), and the field of grass below turns to purple, with 12 illuminated orbs hovering over it.
I cannot explain these things, but in my simple mind, I already appreciate the (visual) "connections", and the speculation on the concepts and purpose, is a huge part of the allure, IMHO.
WHY NOT MV:
BACK to the Teaser Image, where we can also see the "Train Departure" board showcasing LOONA songs (similar to that "The Journey" teaser trailer), including The Carol 2.0, 365, SO What, Why Not?, Hi-High, and their albums XX, #, & = "random" words? ... We'll know more when more images are revealed... The next we have are CONCEPT IMAGES OF THE GIRLS THEMSELVES...!
