An Illusion of Delirium - ‘Pre1 : Birth' MV by ARTMS

The pre-release track for ARTMS' "Dall" has been unveiled, with "BIRTH" forgoing all that you might expect from past HeeJin, OEC or even LOONA releases, delving deep in to the darkness, the dark days of the past from which they are now born again. This is literally the "birth" of ARTMS.

""Birth" tells the story of a character whose emotional instability after a breakup and insomnia cause them to experience severe hallucinations. The single introduces listeners to the group's freakish sound and concept, as the story originally told through the music of LOONA undergoes transformation and perversion. "

The pagan-soaked imagery with lowbrow art (If these were painted by HeeJin tho...) envelope this shadowed universe, where HeeJin looks to be attempting to escape from, while HaSeul, Kim Lip and JinSoul is trapped in their environments ... but Choerry has "escaped" and reborn again, and all 5 are reunited at the end of the MV, under the lady of light.

This is a "short-film"-serve, with emotive singing and voices, and zero KPOP-dancing, and as a practisioner myself in my local media industry, is highly cherished. Hopefully we'll be treated to BTS/making-of the filmlet from filmmakers @digipedi. And that flash D&B-drop? You've got me now, ARTMS...!

BEHIND THE SCENES

ARTMS went on YouTube LIVE today (March 29) to reach to and answer comments online for their "Birth" MV (seen embedded video below), and via the efforts of @orrery_nim, here are some bullet-points tp MV-related questions, cheers.

- According to HeeJin, Digipedi said "Hope it doesn't seem like a typical idol MV".

The track "Birth" does have choreography. HeeJin states "Statues/Sculpture" - a choreo that can show off one's looks, which whispers "vogue" to me, IMHO :)

- "Birth was originally a different song. But a week before the vote, it fell through."

- The flowers in front of the house (from left to right): Choerry, Kim Lip, Heejin, Jinsoul, and Haseul.
Jinsoul because she's the tallest, Haseul the shortest, Yerim with the thin/sharp vibe like her jawline, Lip because of her shoulders, Heejin the one left over. In the center...

- "Jinsoul unnie wrote lyrics!"
- "A bitter kiss" who wrote that line? Answer: "Jaden Jeong".

- In the subway: it was a real retired subway train from Line 2 that was turned into a filming set.

- HeeJin did not draw all the pictures. Digipedi brought in an artist to do those.

- Heejin: But it's the nice thing working with Digipedi, not much time spent waiting. They get what they need and if they don't need any more they move on right away.

The MV filming was done very quickly this time...
Jinsoul: And all of us together, there's like 2 scenes?

Haseul: On day 1 we all filmed, and on day 2 Heejin had her scene carrying around all that luggage outside.

- The giant is "Artemis"?!

- Kim Lip in the subway then going into the scene of falling as a meteor.

- Jinsoul: ARTMS is 5th gen - our debut was 3.5gen.

The artists has been identified!
