Jaden Jeong on The Status of OEC+

CEO of Modhaus (and former A&R of LOONA pre-[#] albums), Jaden Jeong had an (English) interview published on www.nme.com where he shed a little light on signing Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry AKA the former members of LOONA, and their status right now...

Key words and phrases:

/// Neither Jeong nor the four ex-members had initially set out to reunite under the same agency. The girls contactED him to seek his guidance after securing their own injunctions against BBC. It was not initially planned for the girls to join Modhaus.

Better to state clearly the position, least risking the lawsuit-wrath of BBC, as they are currently engaged in against Chuu.

/// As for the speculation that OEC+ will be folded into Modhaus' TripleS 24-member strong girl group: "with Jeong describing them as "sister groups", each with their own "unique worldview". But what might happen is cross-group collaboration ... "it is important for talented idols to maintain their group’s identity and narrative...”

/// The quartet "will continue the identity of LOONA" ... the agency will refer to the “action and activities” of Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry as the "Artemis Strategy", after the Greek goddess of the moon, though Jeong emphasises that it is "not a new group name”.

Kim Lip, JinSoul and Cheorry (AKA "Odd Eye Cirlce / OEC") was joined by HeeJin for their Japan track "Sick Love" (featured here in 2022), which was used as the ending track for for Japanese TV drama "What Six Survivors Told", and as well will be apart of LOONA's 2nd Japan Single Release "LUMINOUS". This "Sub-Unit was knwon as "OEC+ / OEC*". So poetuic that all four members secured their injunction against BBC!

/// He reveal that Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry are already working on new music.

"“We already started recording. It felt refreshing to see the Odd Eye Circle members again in the recording studio after such a long time,” he says. “During that time, their skills have improved, and their opinions have become clearer. I have been working closely with Jinsoul to develop her A&R skills. I must say, her talent in this area is quite impressive.”

/// When asked if there’s a possibility of revising "La Maison LOONA" AKA "LOONA THE BALLAD" with the quartet, he says: "I am quite open to this matter.” ... "‘Hyper Ballad’ was a song I used to listen to by myself”.

With the "anti-Jaden Jeong-lore" lingering in the memories of a portion of Orbits (LOONA's fandom), would Jaden now be viewed as a "White Knight" that would save the members of LOONA who've left BBC? Or would the naysayers continue to tweet their displeasure and continue with the "villain"-narrative?

I have to hand it to the "self-control" Orbits have through this situation, of not doxxing the management of BBC - who continue to remain effectively faceless amidst all this situation, while all the girls' faces, names and identity are exposed for all to see, as well Jaden Jeong's, who sits openly and confidently in a public news outlet in an interview. Let that sink in a bit more.

Regardless "intent" or otherwise, I would rather place my faith on the girls themselves, for choosing the best possible path on their return to the industry, whom no doubt have the support of their parents and family, and friends, and hopefully their fandom, "Orbits".
