Vol.38 - 4 X 4 on #TUNESTALKSG

"4 X 4 on #TUNESTALKSG" is a ongoing serial feature (started in 2025) where I showcased/share 4+ tracks / MVs from 4 Random Albums I have in my eclectic collection ... some might get their own Full Album Listens, most might not, cheers.

John Digweed's 2002 album "MMII" is essentially a DJ mix compilation and mix released by Bedrock Records, with the above being the title track. I honestly do not recolelct how I snagged me a Digweed, but here we are, so chalk it up to yet another attempt to conquer my techno-dance-frenzy (?) :p

Released in 1999, "Bon Voyage" by the Japanese acid-jazz group United Future Organization helped feed my need for "Acid Jazz" (and Trip Hop) in a sliver of time when I tripped the phantom-club .... This is "Flying Saucer", and I adore the sonic soundscape! Between te4chno-electro-dance and acid jazz, the latter wins out most of the time, especially if it is a fusion with bossa nova-esque vibes!

"Behind the Sun" by the British electronic music artist Chicane was released circa 2000. This is "Don't Give Up" featuring the voice of Bryan Adams! I have zero memory of "why" I snagged this album, more likely from a compilation album and of the track I enjoyed (no memories until I hear it, alas), cheers.

Closing out my dancetastic quartet of 4X4 CDs today is English electronic producer Paul Oakenfold's 2002 release "Bunkka". This is the ever recognisable "Ready Steady Go", no doubt the key in me getting this album, after hearing said track perhaps in a OST somewhere ("Swordfish"? "The Bourne Identity"?), cheers.
