Vol.37 - 4 X 4 on #TUNESTALKSG
"4 X 4 on #TUNESTALKSG" is a ongoing serial feature (started in 2025) where I showcased/share 4+ tracks / MVs from 4 Random Albums I have in my eclectic collection ... some might get their own Full Album Listens, most might not, cheers.
Released in 1999, "Luck" from Singaporean singer-songwriter Tanya Chua, with the above audio for title track "Luck". The happy-go-lucky jingle-jangle and her singing tone was perfect for the late-90s, reminiscent in Singapore's airwaves, including the Teenage Textbook Movie OST, IMHO. Audio track below is "Drive", complete with record-scratches LOL
OST / original soundtrack for the Chinese film "Fleeing by Night" (夜奔) starring René Liu and the more likely the reason why I would purchase this album (I have zero memories of the film itself sorry :p). The above seen MV for "成全 Step aside" has nothing to do with the OST tho LOL
BONUS: Full movie (with English subtitles)
I recognise I have more Sugar Ray albums than I remembered, with "14:59" released circa 1999, along with their evergreen "Every Morning" FTW!
And while I do not remember much of the 1997 film "One Eight Seven / 187" (starring Samuel L. Jackson), I do recognize Massive Attack's "Spying Glass" and DJ Shadow's "Stem"... I have to admit, most times the OST is more memorable than the movie itself for me :p
BONUS: Movie trailer to help jog your memories (It diodn't work for me tho :p)
