Vol.36 - 4 X 4 on #TUNESTALKSG
"4 X 4 on #TUNESTALKSG" is a new ongoing serial feature(I started in 2025) where I showcased/share 4 tracks / MVs from 4 Random Albums I have in my eclectic collection ... some might get their own Full Album Listens, most might not, cheers.
"Light Years" by Kylie Minogue is 2000-release, and features notable singles such as "Spinning Around," "On a Night Like This," and "Your Disco Needs You". It's "Kylie Minogue", c'mon you need more? LOL
"Master Series" CD album is a compilation of Commodores' greatest hits, including hits like "Three Times a Lady," "Still," and "Easy" - the main reason why I purchased this album, actually.
Not too ironic I'd loved Faith No More's (1992) version too ... and probably the main reason which led me to getting the Commodores' best of :)
This is a 1997 jazz compilation CD titled "Cheek to Cheek: The Irving Berlin Songbook" released by Verve Records. This was a period in my life where I delved deep into "jazz" (thanks to a colleague who brought me to a jazz club in Somerset and I got hooked! Thanks, Yeow Yee!), and devoured n assortment of musicians - whomever I could sample via listening booths in shops that had them!
These were the days where I just bought what I enjoyed, without focusing too much on the "who", and honestly had been the most "freeing" part of my adult-life, IMHO.
Trip-hop album Mezzanine by the English electronic group Massive Attack was released circa 1998, and I was alternating between jazz (see above) and electronica - both of whom provided me the soundscape to soar in my thoughts and - what I thought - fuelled my creativity back then, at least inspired me to dream beyond the soundtrack which I had been familia with .... 1998 was the year I did my first feature film (as "Art Director" for) - ironically "70's themed" but to me a mirror to the electronica I was closing my eyes and opening my mind to ~ muahahahahaaaaaaa
Fkn epic album and easily amongst the Top Twenty in my personal Soundtrack to Life, thanks. THREE tracks for you, cheers.
