LOONA Comeback in "June 2022"
LOONA will be having a "comeback" in "June" (as reported on entertain.naver.com and star.mt.co.kr), after their popularity in QUEENDOM 2 (I've certainly been focusing on them, obsessively so too - I make no apologies here, tho :p). No current word if this'll come with a full or mini album, nor if this'll be apart of QUEENDOM 2's finale.
MY PERSONAL LOONA JOURNEY
This'll be my third official comeback, after [12:00] and [&] (I missed [#] because I was slow to catch-up lol) ...although technically "4th", with HULA HOOP Japan debut (which remain elusive in my collection), and alas not counting "NOT FRIENDS" as that's not a full "LOONA" project.
TEASERS & PROMOTIONS
[12:00] was promoted with reveals of their Concept Photos for each of the 4 X Concert Styles, which meant 44 images in total (featuring 11 members, with HaSeul still on hiatus) - all of whom made it into the internal pages of the photobook and photo cards.
I remembered this era to have what I felt to be unfortunate over-"photoshopped" images for specific versions, but ultimately was jazzed to see multiple different stylings.
Besides the stills images reveals, there was less promotional moving image teasers to the MV, as compared to [&]
[&] was promoted likewise with multiple reveals of their Concept Photos for each of the 4 X Concert Styles, but this time welcoming HaSeul back intoi the fold - and featured 48 images toital. This time focusing on "reality" in what is arguably a "softer"-visual to photography, and more tender, veering on a more nuanced and "natural" showcase of the girls, without repeating the overly styled aesthetics of [12:00].
The music video for "PTT (Paint The Town)" saw the girls fashionbly dressed up and "cosplaying" fictional characters and warrior women, and for the first time in their MVs, surrounded by dancers.
That visual iconology translated directly to their QUEENDOM 2 stages, and I am looking forward ti this comeback to see if their worldview has expanded beyond the OT12, and of course to see if the lore will continue, and how all of these might influence the teasers and promotions for this comeback.
BUY BUY BUY
UPDATED: I missed out on mentioning the [#] album - for which there were also FOUR versions (I only ever managed to snag one version :p)... NO, my musiclife remains incomplete...
Since [12:00] release in 2020, and [&] in June of 2021 (literal one year since), the albums have been released via 4 Versions of the same album, featuring different internal pages plus different covers. The [&] release also included a "KiT" album.
[12:00] was listed as a "mini album", consisting of 8 tracks (Full Album Listen), of which "Why Not?" (Title track) And "Star" (English version) were released with music videos. Purchasing details previously featured HERE, and featured below is a video unwrapping of "Version A" (Watch all unwrapping videos HERE).
[&] was also listed as a "mini album", consisting of 7 tracks (Full Album Listen Hee), which produced title track "PTT (Paint The Town)", before their promotions were cut short by COVID-19. Album purchasing details were featured HERE, and as well featured below is a compilation of my Unwrapping of all 4+1 album (Watchable individually HERE).
[12:00] felt like a diversion from the lore, and would've heralded a new era relinquishing the LOONAVERSE, but for [&] to delve direct into the LOONAVERSE, as did HULA HOOP subsequently paid direct homage and reference to their predebut eras. I wonder what the next incarnation of LOONA will hold?
One one hand I recognise I would be struggling to acquire similar amount of albums as I had done with [&], but to ask me to pick and choose only ONE version? I do not look forward to the day when I'll have to do that... :(
INFO WHERE
While delving into LOONA, my education were predominantly thru online videos and MVs, with descriptions on the LOONA Wiki. One of the blessed aspects of LOONA, is that there'll be English subtitles in their video content released via @loonatheworld.
I was on the tailend of figuring out [#] when promotions ended, and caught up afterwards. But with [12:00] and [&], and subsequent projects such as their Japan debut, "Not Friends" and even QUEENDOM 2, it had been predominantly via Twitter. I find myself glued to Twitter (since Queendom 2) and has been my main source of socials recently, with a mixed bag of response too. And of course di stay connected to their socials:

INTRODUCING LOONA

MY PERSOANL SOCIAL TAKEAWAY
On one hand I fear alienating my followers (who are there primarily for my coverage on TOYSREVIL, I assume), and at the same time, I have been embracing my other passions - which include films and media shows for POPCORNX, and of course 80s music and LOONA on TUNESTALKSG. No doubt as Queendom 2 comes to a end soon, LOONA comeback will begin, so I would not doubt of my followers'll mute me, moving forward :p
Cheers,
Andy TOYSREVIL
