Hyolyn performs "My Love" (featuring Basick) on "Unpretty Rapstar 2"
How could I post about EXY, and not acknowledge HYOLYN for UNPRETTY RAPSTAR 2 (having seen their interaction in Episode 1 of Queendom 2)?
Found this spectacular and powerful performance for "My Love" (featuring Basick 베이식) where she beautifully showcased her singing vocals and her rap. Even without knowing the language, I am left shook throughout the performance... The tone and emotion was as intense, and performed "live"? OMFG I could feel the sadness, the desperateness, the longing for hope and ever regret ... truly spectacuar performance indeed.
I'd attempted to find out the meaning of the song, but instead found the English lyric translation (reposted below). Did she write the lyrics? I cannot seem to find any info for that, beyond the addition AUDIO ONLY vid (posted below).
This performance happened on "November 6, 2015" (so sayeth Wiki) for "UNPRETTY RAPSTAR2" Semi Final. Hyolyn finished the show in third place.

I remembered watching episodes of UNPRETTY RAPSTAR2 on cable somewhen ago (no doubt a rerun), but did not manage to sit thru all the episodes, as it was not a genre in my listening wheelhouse, beyond the commercial presented soundscapes from the usual predominantly Western suspects. I do re ever vividly the (below featured) One-Take-Mission "Don’t Stop" MV (for Audition EP.01 / 12 Sept 2015), and recognising only Hyolyn out of the crew, from her days with SISTAR and SISTAR19, and wondering WHY IS SHE HERE? WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO BE HERE? And recognising not long after; I AM GLAD SHE IS HERE, for the performers / artistes to be able to experience different genres beyond their regularly recognised ones ... sometimes you show only one note, but sometimes it would be fab for folks and fans to see different sides and colors to your/their craft and art ... at least that was on my mind then, and now, actually :)
