"I never say goodbye, I never stop,
I never cry, I never lose, I never die."
PRESS: [I NEVER DIE] is an album that captures (G)I-DLE’s feelings and thoughts about not only what is given to them, but also all prejudices of the world. (G)I-DLE who faces the world without backing off keeps their values, saying, "I’m just me."
PRESS: The 9 tracks of various genres including alternative rock, pop, R&B, and hip-hop in the album clearly reveal (G)I-DLE’s free-spirited and fierce color, foreshadowing the birth of another hit album.
The producing abilities of (G)I-DLE, who participated in the songwriting process of all tracks, including the title track "TOMBOY," are also enough to attract global fans' attention.
ABOUT: "TOMBOY" (Title Track)
PRESS: The title track, "TOMBOY" fully reveals (G)I-DLE’s unique confident attitude. The straightforward lyrics like "I’m not a doll" and "Just me I-DLE" remind the listeners of uncontrollable eccentric characters and express daring charms. In addition, the hook, which combines (G)I-DLE’s unique voice with rough and magnificent instrumental sounds, and the addictive variation section that plays when the mood heightens are also elements to look forward to.
In anticipation of the album release, two teasers have dropped for the "TOMBOY" MV, seen above and directly below):
But just "Who is (G)I-DLE?"
The K-pop group, (G)I-DLE, currently consists of five members: MIYEON, MINNIE, SOYEON, YUQI, and SHUHUA.
PRESS: (G)I-DLE has been unstoppable since their official debut on May 2nd, 2018. Starting off their career by winning and having been nominated for "Rookie of the Year" awards in numerous award ceremonies, they have been sweeping the charts.
Up until now, the group has released six extended plays and eight singles, which include “Latata,” “Hann (Alone),” “Senorita,” “Uh-Oh,” “Lion,” “Oh My God,” "Dumdi Dumdi," and "Hwaa."
PRESS: (G)I-DLE participates in the creation of their own music. SOYEON has been involved with writing, co-writing, and co-producing the majority of the group's title song releases, with MINNIE and YUQI also co-writing a significant number of album songs.
SOYEON and MIYEON - along with American singers Madison Beer and Jaira Burns - has as well performed under a virtual girl group named K/DA which featured SOYEON and MIYEON as Akali and Ahri respectively. If you've not read TUNESTALKSG by now, you know I am a HUGE FAN, and I admittedly personally first got to delve more into (G)I-DLE thru their participation in the Riot Games release...! ... my bias YUQI notwithstanding lah ... but SOYEON with black hair is wrecking me tho... :)
Next comes perhaps an uncomfortable aspect of the girl group ... (G)I-DLE was once 6 members strong, with SooJin embroiled with a bullying-accusation, to which CUBE chose to announce the termination of her contract right in the midst of promotions, no doubt to quell any questions before debut.
The header on allkpop.com read: "Cube Entertainment terminates former (G)I-DLE member Soojin's exclusive contract based on police conclusion of school bullying lawsuit"
The following is (a translation of) an official statement from Cube Entertainment (Dated March 5th), regarding former (G)I-DLE member and artist Soojin;
You can still view SooJin's performance in past music videos (featured on TUNESTALKSG), and most recently in my feature on (G)I-DLE Performances on QUEENDOM.
Choosing to not dwell, but instead I will cheer on (G)I-DLE for their upcoming release, and as well peace and success be with SooJin and whatever she chooses to to next...!
