Introducing CHUU of LOONA (10th Girl To Be Revealed for 이달의 소녀)

The tenth girl to be revealed for LOONA 이달의 소녀 is "CHUU" (whom will be apart of the third sub-unit "YYXY"). As of this blogpost published, Chuu is the current "IT" girl from LOONA, seen in multiple variety shows, online shows and commercials too! But let us delve a lil'bit back to when she first debuted via BlockBerry Creative...!

LOOΠΔ [Chuu]: "LOOΠΔ’s each member with her own distinctive character encounters each other to build up the universe. The first member HeeJin started off by meeting HyunJin, which then led to introduction of HaSeul to make three. While the youngest member, YeoJin, and ViVi from Hong Kong join, LOOΠΔ 1/3 was complete. [Love&Live], an album full with emotions of first crush, gets reversed to create [Love&Evil], an album with pain of first break-up to wrap up the first chapter of LOOΠΔ 1/3’s career.

LOOΠΔ creates another circle with LOOΠΔ / ODD EYE CIRCLE with girls who prefer to take charge in a relationship, KimLip, JinSoul, and Choerry. They mix and match through [Mix&Match] to the maximum level of [Max&Match], while LOOΠΔ developed the depth of their music, visuals, and storytelling to the next level.

We all wonder who the last member is going to be. The start of the new unit took off with Yves, and now the tenth member of LOOΠΔ, Chuu, reveals herself to bring a new wind into the universe of LOOΠΔ.

The new single lets the fans take a peek into what JiWoo, who has already been a popular trainee among fans, had to go through to become ‘Chuu’, and her desire to be loved by Yves, who also has said in her lyrics, “my heart that wants to be like you gets colored, filled with you.”

The titled track “Heart Attack” does not interpret the feelings of being in love in a serious way, but with Chuu’s own adorable emoticon-like ways. The music video has references to historical and fictional figures such as the artist Rene Magritte, Hans Christian Andersen’s short story “The Little Match Girl”, and John Appleby’s novel “Aphrodite Means Death”.

The supporting track “Girl’s Talk” is a duet by Chuu and Yves, a rendition of a daily dialogue between two girls. Sweet but sometimes secretive, the precious chats between the girls get reinterpreted to become a song. G-High of Monotree, who has produced HeeJin’s “ViViD” and LOOΠΔ / ODD EYE CIRCLE’s “Uncover”, crafts the track to perfection to prove the quality

Chuu first started being in the public eye first as a successful Instagrammer (her account has since been deleted after her final post on November 11, 2017, before revealed to be the 10th girl ... you can still view some "archived" images via fan-account IG @loonathepredebut), and subsequently being apart of 2019's web-drama "Dating Class" (along with Gyuri of fromis_9). She is the creator of the "Chuu-Heart" / "Apple-Heart" / "Bite-Heart" gesture enacted by loads more idols and celebrities than I think knows SHE invented it first (:p) ... plus she has a 3rd degree black belt in Taekowndo, who is pretty proud of her MBTI being "ENFP (Spark/Campaigner)".



Featured above is the 1st Fan Event for YVES & CHUU (Uploaded "21 Jan 2018"), while below is the 1st Fan Event for CHUU and GOWON (Uploaded "17 Feb 2018") - which simply shows the somewhat short timeline between Chuu's debut/release, and GoWon's debut/release, IMHO. This will subsequently lead to Olivia-Hye's debt/reveal, and subsequently the first teaser for sub-unit YYXY's single on 26 Apr 2018.

UPDATED: The following Concept Photos were revealed (From June 3-June 6, 2021) in anticipation of LOONA's 4th mini album [&] comeback, scheduled for 2021.6.28 pm6 (KST) Release.





Chuu has appeared in multiple variety shows (as herself - above in Ep 248 of "The King of Mask Singer", and apart of LOONA) through the years, and has also recorded for OSTs ...but her most memorable milestone appearance would be in 2020's "Running Girls" (for Mnet)...



The years 2020 and 2021 (thus far) would be a year of abundance for Chuu, including her "own" YouTube channel "Chuu Can Do It" (With DIA TV / 2020–2021), and more recently in "오떼르 Hauteur (of) the Day", "Steel Corps" (ongoing), "Law of the Jungle" (ongoing) - all in 2021. Her latest commercial for Pocari Sweat has as well crossed over to her "Chuu Can Do It" channel (paid sponsorship). Her latest CF/TVC is for Samsiung's "Galaxy Store"!



The internet is filled with content (both official and fanmade) featuring Chuu, especially in recent days, and I am spoilt for choice to post! As often as this adorable young lady wanting to be "sexy" beyond her "cute" image (oft mentioned in her appearance in recent shows), it is her growing confidence in herself that will continue to showcase her charisma and let the viewers and fans have a glimpse at WHO "Kim Ji-Woo" really is, as often as she shows herself to be - seen in this videos posted here - as much as she allows folks to view her to be (she doesn't hide it that well, that's why folks adore her, methinks).
