"STAR" MV by LOONA

With two sets of Concept Shoot images revealed (1st Concept Shoot + 2nd Concept Shoot), in anticipation of the music video for LOONA's "STAR" which premiered 12noon KST (which is the "regular timing" for when LOONA TV premieres on the youtube channel too)!

Also featured below is BlockBerry Creative had captioned with the MV (and noticed they included HaSeul in the line-up).

"LOOΠΔ [12:00]

LOONA has announced ‘the Starry Festival.’

LOONA (HeeJin, HyunJin, HaSeul, YeoJin, ViVi, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry, Yves, Chuu, Go Won, Olivia Hye) who released their third mini-album ‘Midnight’ (12:00) on the 19th of last month, became the first girl group to enter into Billboard 200, the main chart of the U.S. Billboard. It had proven that they are growing as a global influence with 8 albums entering into the Billboard along with ‘Artist 100’

On the third day of the album's release, it broke its record including ranking number one in 49 countries on the iTunes Album Chart, ranking number one worldwide for three consecutive days, and also entering the ‘Rolling Stone Top 200’ Chart for two consecutive weeks, as well as entering the Top 100 on the Official Album Download Chart, which is an official chart in the UK.

After successfully completing the promotions of “Why Not?” which is the title track of [12:00] album, LOONA released the official music video and concept photos of "Star", the English version of "Voice" in response to the support they receive globally.

Even though "Voice" and "Star" are the same songs, Korean version and the English version consist of lyrics of two different stories and charms.

"Star" is an energetic retro song with a low, addictive repeated beat. Inspired by the Midnight Festival, Sleeping Beauty, and space, “Star” music video tells the story of waking up in a dream and pursuing goals and inspiration after discovering themselves in a mysterious space.

The stars that appear throughout the music video represents ‘Orbits’, LOONA’s official fan club, indicating that LOONA is chasing their dream in the spotlight by Orbits from all over the world."

"STAR" featured a full group dance performance video (Which had been absent in the "WHY NOT?" MV), and one of the exceedingly rare time we see LOONA performing in a studio set(s). And while filmed studio sets were featured in past individual MVs (JinSoul's SINGING IN THE RAIN, Chuu's HEART ATTACK et al), but as a whole group, only "BUTTERFLY" came immediately to mind.

LOONA's visual forte had been filmed predominantly in exterior environments, but with "STAR", they have adopted a flavour folks have been experiencing in (general) KPOP, and it is "refreshing"! And the amount of special effects added gave yet another dimension to the group moreso than it had done before, methinks! And yet, the LOONAVERSE and lore is not forgotten, with fairy-sprinkles of "ViVid", HeeJin & Olivia-Hye meeting again, and nods that I am sure Orbits would recognise (and remember), while the folks who have only just gotten into LOONA will still enjoy otherwise, and ease into "kpop familiarity", IMHO.

One aspect which I adore, is the uniqueness of LOONA, that stands/stood out amongst what-folks-might-perceive-as-Kpop, and endeavours very effective a global group/performers ... but we cannot also forgo the local/South Korean community in which they too belong to, and I don't know about you folks, but I felt "STAR" helped catered to that perception, IMHO. "We belong, but we to have our own unique colors." I for one am looking forward to how they will continue to bridge both!

I have not been a fan for too long (After "BUTTERFLY" era, and only so before "SO WHAT", with TONS of catch-up in-between), but with foundation built up for the entirety of their discography and lore thus far, is strong enough to sustain the sincerity of their efforts, and everything they have done and will continue to do, evolving into the performers we love, adore and STAN.

But enough yakking from me! I will continue to enjoy and follow LOONA, and apologies for the horrendously pixellated screen-snaps of the MVs I'd posted here (*My screen grab function is currently crippled on my desktop), but I am sure Orbits and folks'll have splendid ones uploaded on socials!
