"Like the Deserts Miss the Rain" by the British duo Everything but the Girl was a complication album released in 2002. The compilation features tracks from their later, more electronic-influenced career, which included "Missing" (Todd Terry Remix).



I was not a huge fan of "changes in musical direction", especially when its from someone I adored their original music was ... but EBTG changed that in me, as their haunting melancholy in their earlier discography gave way to an electronic-infused dance melancholy, the irony of which intrigued me and my senses. These days I can choose to miss both of their musical direction, and wished we could have more of either :)

Released in 2000, "Jay" is Taiwanese singer Jay Chou's debut studio album, and he possessed a sound I really liked in the early days too. This was to be the only album I have of his, subsequently tuning out of my mind with.

The lead single "Adorable Lady" ("可愛女人") is written and arranged by Chou, with lyrics by Vivian Hsu.

"Blame It On My Youth" by Holly Cole Trio was released internationally in 1992 on the Manhattan imprint of Capitol Records. By the time I was clued into this band (via my younger brother), I was knee-deep in a jazz-infused big-band musical-esque soundscape, and I love it. This is "I'll Be Seeing You" (Sammy Fain, Irving Kahal);

"Minor Earth | Major Sky" by the Norwegian band a-ha was their 6th studio album, released in 2000. I had followed their discography ever since "Hunting High and Low" via cassette and CDs, and ended my run with their 2005 album release "Analogue". This is their 1st single released; "Summer Moved On".
