Korean-American singer Lena Park (Park Jung-hyun) was one of my first listens to "KPOP", with this "Lena Park 2: A Second Helping" being the second studio album released in 1999. This was a period in my life when EVERYTHING was about the female singer(s), whatever language they sung in, but being able to evoke and stir the inner feelings - which until now I can not fathom represented - this is "Crazy People" (audio only).

As mentioned before (if you've not read it, not worries)< I'd gotten on the "jazz"-train thanks to a work collegue of mine who brought me to a "live" performance at Somerset Bar (Waves to Yeow Yee), and of course my sonic-journey would bring me to "John Coltrane"! And at my pedestrian-point, a "compilation" or "best of" would be the best course of enjoyment, as far as I was concerned! "Coltrane for Lovers" was such a compilation.

It is a compilation of romantic ballads from Coltrane's early years with Impulse! and Verve Records. The album was released posthumously on January 23, 2001. The album features collaborations with other jazz greats, including Johnny Hartman and Duke Ellington.. This is "My One And Only Love".

The album "Tanto Tempo" by Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto was released in 2000 and "is known for its electronic bossa nova style, which became popular in clubs worldwide." This is title track "Tanto Tempo" (audio), and my love for Bossa nova is unparalleled, likened to a fictional luxury holiday I'd never experience and aim one day in my life to :)

"3rd Perspective" by the Japanese nu-jazz trio United Future Organization (UFO) was released in 1996 (or 1997). Until researching for this blogpost, I had not known they were "Japanese" actually...! This is "His Name Is...."



I cannot even begin to describe this genre of music in my soundtrack to life, alongside similar soundscaped folks like Thievery Corporation and it's ilk, which gave me a pause and peace I did not know I was seeking, but unfortunately oft take for granted.
