Girl's Day (걸스데이)
"Girl's Day" (걸스데이) is a South Korean girl group formed by Dream T Entertainment in 2010. The group consists of members Sojin, Minah, Yura, and Hyeri. An earlier incarnation consisted of members Jisun and Jiin (officially left the group in 2010), and Jihae (left in late 2012). According to Wikipedia, the four members decided not to renew their contracts with Dream T Entertainment in 2019, "but have stated that they haven't disbanded."
Their last release was the EP Everyday #5 in 2017. Here's a little bit of "history" before we head to their MVs
And while I recognise the group's name (constantly seeing them being mentioned in KPOP), I was wholly unfamiliar with the group nor their discography, until doing up this post, and recognizing some tracks!
And the reason I am here today, started with being utterly smittened by Minah currently in "Delivery Man" Kdrama, and searching out her filmography, to find out she was in Girl's Day, and quite a few recognised actresses from other dramas which I did not know were from this KPOP girl group! So this is my own "catch-up" to them!
Bang Min-Ah (방민아) / Ex-Stage Name: Minah (민아) plays "Kang Ji-Hyun" currently in "Delivery Man", and had starred in "My Absolute Boyfriend" (SBS / 2019), "Beautiful Gong Shim" (SBS / 2016), "Vampire Idol" (MBN / 2011-2012) and more!
Park So-Jin (박소진) / Sojin (소진) ứa a very familiar face, having seen her in "Alchemy of Souls " (1 & 2, 2022), "Sh**ting Stars" (tvN / 2022), "Hot Stove League" (SBS / 2019), and more, including movies!
Kim Ah-Young (김아영) / Yura (유라)was in Kdramas I have not watched (so could not place her, sorry), including "Destined with You" (JTBC / 2023), "Forecasting Love and Weather | Gisangchung Saramdeul: Sanaeyeonae Janhoksa Pyeon (JTBC / 2022), "To The Beautiful You" (SBS / 2012), and more.
Lee Hye-Ri (이혜리) / Hyeri (혜리) might well be the most recognisable in the group, with multiple roles in Film and TV, including "Moonshine" (KBS2 / 2021-2022), "My Roommate Is A Gumiho" (tvN / 2021), "Record of Youth" (tvN / 2020), "Miss Lee" (tvN / 2019 - I loved her in this), "Reply 1988" (tvN / 2015-2016), and more!
