#tunestalktapes: "People Are People" by Depeche Mode (Bootleg Cassette Tape)

Starting a new series on #tunestalksg, with #tunestalktapes = Essentially a series of Cassette Tapes archive of what I have/had - be it in still images or video clips (no commentary from myself, cheers).
I am starting with the above labelled "People Are People" by Depeche Mode, which essentially is a mixed compilation of tracks, which suits me just fine!
Tracklist is reproduced below, alongside the album from which it came from, while I wonder at how daring the tape itself is marked "Made In Singapore"! Or maybe this was a "legit" tape release...?

Nah - How would you be able to differentiate between legit releases and bootlegs? One of the ways in the INSIDE of the cassette sleeve. A legit release would have lyrics printed inside, while bootlegs would be left blank ... well, at least for most of the 80s?

1. People Are People ("Some Great Reward", 1984)
2. Master & Servant ("Some Great Reward", 1984)
3. Work Hard ("Construction Time Again", 1983)
4. Told You So ("Construction Time Again", 1983)
5. Pipeline ("Construction Time Again", 1983)
SIDE B
1. Get The Balance Right ("Construction Time Again", 1983)
2. Leave In Silence ("A Broken Frame (Deluxe)", 1982)
3. Everything Counts ("Construction Time Again", 1983) - B-Side of 'WORK HARD'
4. Now This Is Fun ("A Broken Frame (Deluxe)", 1982)
5. Love In Itself ("Love In Itself.2 And Live Tracks", 1983)

Imagine THIS would be a listeners' first sonic experience with DM...? My memories are fuzzy at best, but I'd figured out some tracks from the list having heard and following DM earlier on - specifically "Get The Balance Right", "Everything Counts" and "Master and Servant"... I think I got the tape specifically for "People Are People"...? Anyways, the full trackless is replicated below with videos from YouTube ... and I'll talk about Scritti Politti another time ... :p
